When I was six, I watched older kids type a BASIC program from a magazine into an Atari 130XE. You wrote instructions, and something appeared on the screen that you could interact with. I've wanted to build things ever since.
When I got my own computer, I never cared much about typing the code. I wanted to build, and I wanted results fast. Now agents do the typing, and my job is the part that was always the point: deciding what to build, and making sure it works.
